- Introduction:
Ambuja Vidya Niketan Trust is the part of Ambuja Cements Limited and has 175 employees The best business practices and ethical code are ingrained in the Company culture and its personnel and played a vital role in the success of the Company. This Code of Conduct establishes a common and consistent framework across the organization, including schools, for how we will achieve our mission and goals.
- Applicability:
The Code of Conduct will apply to all the principals of the Ambuja schools and all the staff/ employees of the Trust.
- Accounting & Financial Reporting:
All business transactions shall be recorded in true, fair and timely fashion in accordance with the accounting and financial reporting standards, accepted guidelines, principles and accounting standards generally followed in India and applicable to the Trust. The accounting procedures shall fairly and accurately reflect all the school’s business transactions and disposition of assets. All required information shall be accessible to the Trust’s auditors and other authorised persons and government agencies.
All principals & Employees shall ensure that the school’s information furnished to the government departments/authorities, financial institutions and banks are authentic and accurate. In accordance with established procedures, appropriate accounting systems, controls and audits, the Trust ensures the reliability and accuracy of its accounts, records and reports.
- Confidentiality :
Confidential information includes all non-public information, intellectual property rights such as new projects and plans, strategies, salary and benefits data, customer, employee and suppliers’ lists and any unpublished financial or other info. All Principals and Employees shall strive to protect confidential information acquired, generated, gathered or which otherwise came into their possession during the course of employment. The obligation to protect the Company’s proprietary and confidential
information continues even after Directors and Employees leave the Company. The Directors and Employees must return all proprietary information in her/his possession upon leaving the Company.
- Compliance with Laws, Rules and Regulations :
All Principals and Employees shall keep themselves updated in relation to laws/statutory compliances applicable to their scope of work and shall conduct school affairs with honesty and integrity and in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations and shall not commit any illegal or unethical act or instruct others to do so, for any reason.
- Expense Claims:
All Principals and Employees are prohibited from claiming the expenses that are incurred for personal purpose. The expenses incurred in the course of employment and relating to the official work are to be claimed as per the authorisation policy of the Trust
- Protection and Proper Use of AVNT’s Assets:
All Principals and Employees shall endeavour to protect the Trust’s assets against loss, theft or other misuse and are responsible for the careful use, protection, expenditure and administration of such assets. Any suspected loss, misuse or theft should be reported to the chairman, LMC. The trust’s assets and services like equipment, vehicles, houses, electronic resources (including, hardware, software and the data thereon) etc are for the use by the bonafide employees/ students only. All principals and employees shall return the Trust’s assets entrusted to them while in office when they are leaving the service of the trust.
- Policy against Sexual Harassment:
All the Principals and Employees of the Trust shall strive to maintain a work environment free from sexual harassment, whether physical, verbal or psychological. Stringent Disciplinary action shall be taken against any person found in breach of such a rule, including civil or criminal prosecution before the competent court of law.
- Email and Internet:
Principals and Employees shall use the school’s email and internet facilities only for the purpose of the school. The Principals and Employees are prohibited from posting and disseminating school’s information and data on internet except for specific purpose and with the prior written consent of the appropriate authorities. The Trust prohibits the use of internet facilities for accessing unauthorised, illegal or immoral web sites from the computers provided at their workplace. ( Pl see Annexure – for additional information on IT Policy and Internet Usage)
- Use of Licensed Software:
The software used by the school on Trust’s/Company’s equipment must be a licensed and legal software. The Principals and Employees are prohibited from using unauthorised and unlicensed software on the Trust’s equipment and the laptops provided by the trust.
- Communications:
All Principals and employees must follow the Trust’s communication norms. All the communications to the local community and all inquiries from the press shall be handled only by the concerned department or by a person authorised by the trustees.
Explanation: a) The expression “gift” shall include free transport, boarding, lodging or other service or any other pecuniary advantage when provided by any person other than a near relation or personal friend having no dealings with him in connection with the school.
Note: A casual lift or other social hospitality of a casual nature shall no be a gift.
RESPONSIBILITY: Each Principal and Employee of the Trust will be responsible for the observance of this Code of Conduct in both letter and spirit. Violations against this Code of Conduct will not be tolerated. Non-compliance may be subject to disciplinary actions including termination of employment. Any questions about this Code of Conduct should be referred to the C.E. Code of conduct for other employees: The Code of Conduct specified for teacher shall so far as may be, apply to other employees of Ambuja Group of schools.
